About The Firm

Susan G. Pinkston and Barbara Carraway Dogan founded Alternatives and Dispute Resolutions, LLC in 1997. It is one of the first Mississippi owned business devoted exclusively to alternative dispute resolution. They work with individual, corporate, and governmental clients. Although their firm offers arbitration and assisted negotiation services, pre-litigation mediation is most requested by their clients. Susan and Barbara are committed to offering and providing for their clients a broad range of personalized service options. They are willing to co-mediate cases or work individually; host the mediations or arbitrations at a neutral site, including their Ridgeland, MS, office, or travel to a location chosen by the parties. They also give their clients the option of choosing different styles of mediations (directive or transformative); of working with or without legal representation; and of tailoring their fee structure to the services requested.

Susan and Barbara's mediation clients include the United States Postal Service, the National Association of Securities Dealers, American Arbitration Association Hurricane Katrina Mediation Program, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the United States Department of Agriculture. Both principals are on the Southern and Northern District of Mississippi Courts and the Mississippi Bar Association approved mediator lists.
